The Four Primary Mixing Mechanisms

Counter-flow convection
Material flows simultaneously in two opposing directions within the same vessel - creating continuous collision and redistribution of particles. This is the primary mechanism of the horizontal ribbon mixer. The outer ribbon moves material toward the center while the inner ribbon moves it toward the ends - achieving thorough blend uniformity in 5 to 15 minutes with low energy input.

Mechanical fluidization
High-speed plough agitators create a turbulent, three-dimensional mixing cloud where every particle is in rapid simultaneous motion regardless of its density, size, or flow characteristics.
